Theme: Train the body. Strengthen the mind. Fix your eyes on Jesus.
Scripture: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you…so glorify God in your body.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19–20
DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE
Jesus didn’t just teach about spiritual strength — He demonstrated physical endurance, mental toughness, and relentless focus. He fasted for 40 days, walked miles to reach the hurting, and remained calm under pressure.
Today, we’re called to the same mindset. We must train our bodies, not for vanity, but for victory — because a strong body strengthens a disciplined mind. Scripture tells us to "run the race" (Hebrews 12:1), "discipline our bodies" (1 Corinthians 9:27), and be "transformed by the renewing of our minds" (Romans 12:2).
When we combine physical training with spiritual focus, we grow in courage, clarity, and confidence. Today’s workout is more than exercise — it’s a devotional in motion.
Time: 4 rounds of 7 exercises for a minute (based on Matthew 28:20 — “I am with you always.”)
Structure: 7 movements (complete in 4 rounds — for Luke 4:1–2, symbolizing Jesus’ 40-day preparation)
⏱️ ROUND FORMAT:
• 60 seconds work / 20 seconds rest (Isaiah 40:31 — “Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength”)
• 1-minute rest after each round
• Pray during rest
THE 7 MOVES — THE 7 SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES
Each movement represents a discipline Jesus modeled:
1. Squats – Discipline & Sacrifice
🔹 Luke 9:23 – “Take up your cross daily…”
🔸 Trains endurance, leg power, and self-denial.
2. Push-Ups – Service & Strength
🔹 Mark 10:45 – “The Son of Man came to serve…”
🔸 Strengthens the chest and humility.
3. Mountain Climbers – Focus & Urgency
🔹 John 9:4 – “We must do the works… while it is day.”
🔸 Cardio blast to keep your mission urgent.
4. Burpees – Resilience & Renewal
🔹 Proverbs 24:16 – “The righteous fall… and rise again.”
🔸 Teaches you to rise every time you fall.
5. Plank Hold – Stillness & Strength
🔹 Psalm 46:10 – “Be still and know…”
🔸 Core stability builds mental resolve.
6. Lunges/Marriage Proposals – Balance & Boldness
🔹 Joshua 1:9 – “Be strong and courageous…”
🔸 Requires explosive control and mental courage.
7. High Knees – Run the Race
🔹 Hebrews 12:1 – “Run with endurance…”
🔸 Trains speed and perseverance.
MENTAL SHARPENING: PRAYER + BREATHING (COOLDOWN)
Scripture Meditation (2 minutes)
• Sit or kneel. Breathe deeply. Repeat:
“Create in me a clean heart, O God.” (Psalm 51:10)
“Renew a right spirit within me.”
Stretch + Reflect (3 minutes)
• Thank God for your strength.
• Journal a thought: Where am I becoming stronger? Where do I need His power?
FINAL WORD
Romans 12:1 – “Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
Each drop of sweat is worship. Each rep is renewal. Stay grounded. Stay grateful. Stay growing.
You are not training for the mirror — you’re training for the mission.
