Eight men came to run one day,
From Honduras, Canada, and the USA!
There's Honker and Flat Tire, Betty Crocker too,
HAL and A-Boot, and Snuggie—what a crew!
Portabella, Alice, Victor made up the rest,
Some twenty-something, some sixty-ish—all their best!
But where did Honker go? And Flat Tire too?
They snuck away to run their own route—sneaky, those two!
The other six stood ready, stretching left and right,
While Honker and Flat Tire had vanished from sight!
They ran their secret path without a word to say,
Leaving their friends to wonder where they'd gone away.
But runners they all were, both young and old,
With stories and miles and friendships to unfold.
Some huffed and some puffed, some flew like the breeze,
Nine men running together—well, seven if you please!
