Two strapped on, one remained bare.
Tha Thang:
There were three lads, seeking rambling conversation under the heat of the morning sun, pacing onward on their feet. Thus, a ruck was underway for two of the three. The third, a former heavyweight now lighter by 40 pounds, had misplaced his ruck and brought instead a sandbag that reminded his knees of the toll they once bore.
It proved a bit impractical for the jolly leprechaun-like fella to shoulder such a load. Not wanting to impede the scramble one lad sought for his tee time, or the steady pooch-stroll paced by the other’s four-legged friend (who also happened to organize both stills), he simply strolled along.
The jolly one remained enthusiastic and positive —except when prompted by the flurry of split tails darting through the jungle-like trails of “the Hill.” Yet the conversations still rambled on: music genres were dissected, part factual, part speculative, all entertaining.
Over the course of an hour and 3.5 miles, the three lads, different in stride and load, shared in camaraderie. Fun was had. Mission accomplished.
