Savannah’s Square Dance Convergence

F3 Coastal Empire June 30th Convergence

  • When: June 30, 2018, 7am – 830ish am.  Coffeeteria to follow
  • Where: Forsyth Park Fountain, Savannah GA

Join F3 Savannah to celebrate the founding of America

The Fourth of July is celebrated throughout the country by fireworks, grilling out, drinking beer, going to the beach, and gathering with friends and family.

While all of these are fine options, F3 Savannah feels that the opportunity to hold an open convergence workout could not be missed. The 4th of July offers an opportunity to partake in each of the 3 F’s that make up F3 – Fitness, Fellowship and Faith — the last of which we define as not one specific religion or faith system, but simply a belief in something outside oneself.

With the 4th falling on a Wednesday, we decided to start the festivities early and have a Saturday Convergence on June 30th. The workout will start at 700am sharp, quick warm up, then off to explore Savannah’s historic downtown while stopping for short but challenging workouts in the squares.  Expect 3-3.5 miles total, with 8 workout stations.  We will start and end in Forsyth Park, near the fountain.  As always, look for the shovel flag.

Who can go?

You.  Yes, You!  We are hoping to have a great turnout from F3 Pooler, F3 Richmond Hill, and all F3 regions in the Coastal Empire. Invite your friends, family, long lost F3 members, new and potential F3 members, running groups, other community workout groups.

This event is open to everyone and anyone.  Don’t worry about fitness level.  No person will be left behind.

Kids are welcome, but they should be able to keep up with the group on foot, by bike, or in a stroller.  Parents will be responsible for their own children’s safety.

What do I need to bring

Just yourself, anyone you’ve recruited to join, workout clothes, a willingness to push yourself and encourage others, and the ability to be thankful for the freedoms and privileges we have.

We will be running through downtown Savannah early on a Saturday, so there will be some traffic.  Bring any safety/reflective gear you see fit.

Questions?

E-mail Hamm if you have any questions about the event or participating.  We look forward to seeing everyone out there.
