WarmOrama:
7 warriors met in the pollen laden gloom, some unknowing that they were about to be baptized in the fires of Roman legion training. In honor of the infamous Ides Of March, and dictators everywhere, today’s workout was Roman style.
They warmed up with a few moves that the Roman army was known to have honed millennia ago:
-Sicilian SSH (think SSH while spinning), IC x15
-Gladiator shoulder taps IC x15
Tha Thang:
The warriors grabbed “Cleos” (today Cindy was cleopatra, big Bertha was Betrinius Maximus) and moseyed to the backside of the park for some super sets.
Super Set 1 (Sicily):
In pairs, the HIMs teamed up:
-Partner 1 Farmers carry to Cleos down and back, approx 75yds
-Partner 2 meanwhile does gas pumpers/hello Dolly alternating (“coliseums”) until Partner 1 returns, then they switch
The two partners did 3 rounds each before the group moseyed to the next spot
Super Set 2 (Vesuvius/Pompei):
After the dictator was reminded that Sparta was actually in Greece, the men moseyed to the bleachers aka Vesuvius.
-25 OHP with Cleo
-1 lap on bleachers (4 flights, sans block), return to Cleo
For sake of time to complete tour of Italy, super set completed at 2 rounds
Super Set 3 (Florence):
The final stop was in northern Italy, which looked a lot like a playground
-Optional Weighted vs body weight pull ups x10 (somehow everyone chosen body weight only)
-Bear crawl length of the mulch pit and back
Here, 3 rounds were completed before the HIMs packed it in and headed back to Rome
COT:
Congrats to the men for making it through Roman legionnaire training, and learning some history (or teaching me some) along the way. There was no vote held today but in dictator fashion it may have been made up along the way.
-Prayers for Goss family, glioblastoma diagnosis
-Lodge family, little girl with kidney disease
-Adventure CSAUP on April 10, prayers to keep growing F3 community
