A lot of candles on YHC’s birthday cake. Just a simple SSH in cadence to 46. Deuce’s public math skills were on point. That’s really 92 reps (Capt Obvious).
Tha Thang:
It pays to be a winner, kinda. Group broken down into two teams. Cornhole boards were set up and each group picked a player to represent their team. The idea was to count how many ringers you get as your score. But you also had to keep track of how many you got on the board to use as the tie-breaker. The timer for each round were the rest of the PAX that for example for the first round had to run to last tree in bus lane and run backwards to the start. Then time was called on the bean bag throwers. The winner got to pick which exercise their team had to complete.
The rounds were planned as followed and it definitely looked better on paper. Disclaimer: we did not get through each round but we still pushed ourselves collectively to the number of reps. Also we picked up the six along the way as required.
Round 1: 46 burpees or 46 plank jacks
Round 2: 46 Colosseums or 46 flutter kicks
Round 3: 46 Bonnie Blair’s or 46 monkey humps
Round 4: 46 Merkins or 46 jump squats
Round 5: 46 Bulgarian split squats or 46 dolly’s
Round 6: 46 Diamond merks or 46 gas pumpers
Round 7: 46 pickle pushers or 46 calf raises
Round 8: 46 burpees or 46 burpees
Round 9: 46 hnd-rls merks or 46 heels 2 heaven
Round 10: 46 Carolina dry docks or 46 MT climb
For the timer part, we did sprinkle in some sprints, Bear crawls, crab walks, duck walks, etc. and a lot of Nur (running backwards). Some mumble chatter to include why is Bogey so old but he still looks like a teenager, if I don’t do all the exercises then the other team will help me anyway, always bring gloves to the Colosseum because it’s the AO with the worst pavement around, to some modifications to exercises were IronPax-worthy (i.e. you’re just cheating yourself).
COT:
Pray for Miyagi’s Father’s surgery and Fro-Zone’s daughter’s surgery. F3 Effingham launch tomorrow at 7am (which we have to get a ruling on because the “Gloom” should actually be pitch black dark, right?!)
Challenge for the weekend is to reach out to a friend, co-worker, family member, acquaintance that you haven’t heard from lately or maybe lost touch with recently. Spend time catching up and you’ll be surprised how energized you will feel. And then pay it forward again.
Appreciate the opportunity to lead! COR, NOR, pledge, pray, and on our way!
