Mikey Phelps and disclaimer. Welcome back Sally! Hang em down the middle and then each side. TTT’s. World’s greatest stretch routine. Each side. Imperial walkers. Ankle rolls and neck rolls each side.
Tha Thang:
Today we honored MSgt John Chapman. We modified the run down a little. Instead of 1200 meters. More like 1000 meters. See pic for the breakdown of the movements.
Sally went into full beast mode and finished in time. YHC’s both shoulders separated from the joint thanks to the Merks and my coccyx is a mess after all those WWII’s.
COT:
In our moments of discomfort is when we dig deep and challenge ourselves to finish. MSgt Chapman was awoken from being unconscious and still stayed in the fight. We honor him and his sacrifice. Some things to think about regarding this American Hero:
Lead by selfless example. A former teammate, Chief Master Sergeant Michael West, said that if Chapman were alive to receive the Medal of Honor, "He was just doing his job, and that's what he would say at this moment". This reflects the idea that the greatest motivation is not seeking recognition, but simply doing what is right for your team.
Embody character long before the critical moment. The Combat Control Foundation noted that Chapman's heroic actions "were about character" that was demonstrated long before his final battle. His integrity and selflessness were part of who he was, and this quality is what made him a courageous leader when it mattered most.
Focus on the team, not yourself. His widow, Valerie Nessel, said that Chapman would not want the Medal of Honor to be just for him. He would want it to be for "all the guys who were lost" and to ensure "the other guys [are not] forgotten". This demonstrates that putting the team first is the ultimate measure of a warrior and a leader.
The legacy lives on. As Nessel said, his legacy will continue to live through his daughters as long as they tell his story. This implies that courage and sacrifice are powerful forces that inspire future generations.
Sally was the only PAX to finish the workout I believe. Forgive me I was a little dizzy at the end. As always, many T-claps to Fro for coming in clutch with the cold brew. And who can forget Hot Pocket who was done with his first set of Merks in the amount of time it would take Sakrete to finish his first Busch Latte and butterbaid combo (that means like really fast).
Pledge, pray, and on our way!
