Tha Thang:
The Air Force's new Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) was implemented on March 1, 2026, and includes the following changes:
Testing frequency: Airmen will take the PFA twice a year, regardless of their score.
Cardiorespiratory: A 2-mile run or the 20-meter High Aerobic Multi-Shuttle Run (HAMR), worth 50 points.
Muscle strength: Push-ups or hand-release push-ups, worth 15 points.
Muscle core endurance: Sit-ups, cross-leg reverse crunches, or the plank, worth 15 points.
Body composition: Waist-to-height ratio, worth 20 points.
We stuck to the traditional push-ups, sit-ups, waist/height ratio, and 2-mile run.
COT:
Everyone did well considering this was the first time most have tried the assessment. Hopefully it provides a good picture of where you’re strong and not so strong in regarding the major graded areas.
