We started with some light stretching to loosen up the muscles that transitioned into a little Broga, plenty of mumble chatter, and, of course, a few burpees for the HIMs who arrived fashionably late.

Tha Thang:
Each HIM grabbed both a normal Cindy and a large Cindy and carried them to the first island where the workout instructions awaited.

The workout was divided into two areas:

Point A – First Island with normal Cindy

10 Cindy Swings
10 Goblet Squats
10 Bent Over Rows
5 American Hammers

Point B – Basketball Pole Island with large Cindy

100 Blockees
100 Thrusters
100 Burpees
100 Goblet Lunges

complete the Point A exercises, run to Point B, attempt to complete a portion of the Point B work using the large Cindy, then return to Point A and repeat. Lot's of mumble chatter was had about point B exercises.

At this point we were pretty smoked, and to ensure we had time for the COT, we skipped putting Cindies away to be cleaned up by those who had time after COT.

I appreciate everyone staying after to help clean up

COT:
Scripture: Matthew 6:34

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

The theme of the workout was based on the idea that we often spend more time focusing on things outside of our control than the things God has actually placed in front of us.

At the beginning of the workout, Point B immediately grabbed everyone's attention. The large Cindy. The huge rep counts. The seemingly impossible workload. Throughout the workout, many of us were thinking about Point B before we ever got there.

At the COT, I asked the PAX to raise their hand if they spent more time thinking about Point B than Point A. Most hands went up.

The reality is that Point B represented many of the things we worry about in life: the future, circumstances we can't control, outcomes we can't guarantee, and burdens that are ultimately too heavy for us to carry on our own.

Those are God-sized problems.

Meanwhile, Point A represented the things God has actually called us to focus on today: our relationship with Him, our families, our character, our responsibilities, and the daily disciplines that prepare us for whatever tomorrow may bring.

We often waste energy worrying about things we cannot control while neglecting the things God has placed directly in front of us.

Our job is to be faithful today.
