A muddy start to the spring

It felt like spring to YHC. The kind of spring that has sprung from your chest, like a mucusy flemball covered in yellow pollen dust. The kind of dust that covers everything in Savannah from January 15th until May 1st. The north may have its sub-zero degree morning workouts, but the south swamplands challenge you in ways your sinuses could never imagine.

6 pax showed in the gloom to try out the 60 minute workout. A return to the chicken coop. I really miss that wild flock of chickens. OOT Pax Twilight welcomed each of us. A true HIM in Savannah for his daughter’s gymnastics tournament. Joined by Hamm, Red Ryder, Doughboy, Bassinet, and Clog. Began with a standard warm up:

25 SSH IC
15 Imperial Walkers IC
15 through the tunnels IC
15 4 count squats IC
30 flutter kicks IC
30 lbcs IC
15 merkins IC
30 arm raise things learned from Cadre Cody at the past weekends goruck

Mosey to the cage for the coupons
2 rounds of:
20 curls
20 overhead presses
20 squats
20 rows (10 each side)

Mosey with block to the large Daffin Park field
Partner up. Partner 1 farmer carries 2 blocks. Partner 2 does 25 merkins, then chases down Partner 1. Swap exercise. Repeat all the way down the field. It’s big. Got in at least 3 swaps.

Charles Bronsons, not Pierce Brosnans (although he was like the 3rd or 4th best James Bond)
Each pax called an exercise – count of 25. Then Bear Crawl 25 yards, Army crawl 15 yards, return to start. Called exercises include
LBCs, star pinchers, jump squats, merkins, plank jacks, deconstructed SSHs

Catch me if you can back to the flag:
Partner up. Partner 1 farmer carries 2 blocks. Partner 2 does 5 burpees then chases down Partner 1. Swap exercise. Repeat all the way down the field. 4 swaps. Bonus points to Clog for sprinting with the blocks when i got near.

Pledge, Prayer, BOM.

Great first effort at the Q-Source discussion at Coffeeteria. Covered the Get Right and the importance of Fitness in the Get Right. Awesome to have Twilight participate with us, when he just met us 1 hour earlier. Told an amazing story about a medium sized speedo on his full sized man body while in the service academy.

Next week Red Ryder will lead the group in a discussion about the Queen – the daily discipline about what we put in our bodies.
