WarmOrama:
Warm up OYO. YHC kicked it off with a short reflection on why we are doing what we are doing. Yes, it is Veterans Day but in addition to honoring one of the fallen the challenge is also how do we create a safer environment for our kids and youth. How do we foster an environment where kids feel ok to talk to their parents or other trusted adults about what’s bothering them. Mental battles, mental struggles, etc can all be invisible to everyone else. YHC shared a story about a young man ironically named Chad who took his own life and the family in their grief were struggling to understand how it could get to that point. Here’s the link to the story: https://www.yahoo.com/gma/son-died-suicide-why-want-090213743.html
Finally, the disclaimer. Push yourself, but don’t hurt yourself. Have fun with the workout today and enjoy the music…an ode to 90’s hip hop mixed in with some angry hard rock.
Tha Thang:
It’s simple. 1000 step-ups. Take breaks. Modify as necessary. Do some personal reflection. Think about when you’re going to do your next buddy check. Breathe. The fellowship and 2nd F was strong with this group this morning!
COT:
YHC reminded the PAX of the why. Why do we do what we do. Also don’t forget that there are first responders (medical, fire, law enforcement) in our own community that need the buddy check as well. They see things or come across accident scenes that could have a definite effect on their mental health. Let’s not forget their service as well.
Welcome to our FNG’s: Crash (Daegan Strickland) and Bambi (Jeremiah Lager)!!! Pooler OG and The Foundry bringing in the new blood today. It was appropriate to see reps from the OG, Foundry, and Colosseum as it all started here at Pooler stadium for many of us.
Proud to be a part of this group. Proud to be a HIM serving a higher purpose just like what YOU all do every day. And continue to give it away fellas, we got a good thing going on here! Aye!!!
